Area of Papuan Bay is home of numerous indigenous tribes. In their artistic presentation, there are apparent unifying elements. One of them is appearance of flat almost oval sculptures decorated by anthropomorphic body in low relief. Those woodcuttings were home of powerful spirits “imunu” who protected owners and attack their enemies. Larger boards were situated on spiritual places of men houses near by ancestors’ skulls, war and hunt trophies. Young men had small “gope” in their houses who helped them during teenage period. Object is provided together with tailored pedestal.
